Headland Sculpture on the Gulf
A major public art event for New Zealand, held over three weeks from late January until mid February on Waiheke Island. Thirty five minutes ferry ride from Aucklandβs CBD, visitors are met by shuttle buses to take them to the start of the coastal walk which takes approximately two hours.
In 2017, its eighth biennial event, hSOTG provided more opportunities to meet the artists, participate in mini-events, interact with the artworks and indulge in Waiheke food and wine.
New works, by established and emerging New Zealand artists, are specifically created for hSOTG β from 250 proposals submitted, 34 were chosen to exhibit in 2017.
Next event: January 2019
