Imagine… you're dressed head to toe in white, gourmet picnic basket, champagne flutes, white chairs and table too. No idea where you're heading, but excitement as hundreds of white-clad picnic-goers converge at a beautiful, public location.
The Diner en Blanc concept is simple - guests take over a public space, have an elegant picnic, then pack up their baskets and rubbish, leaving the space as they found it. In line with tradition, the evening follows strict rules.
Originating in Paris in 1988, when Francois Pasquier hosted a picnic in the Bois de Boulogne, asking each guest to bring a friend and dress in white so to recognise one another, this fabulous event will be held in 40 cities around the world by the end of 2014
